Upcoming Shinpiden Reiki III class: May 22-24, 2010

Upcoming Shinpiden Reiki III class:
Yoga By The Sea, Roberts Creek BC
Saturday to Monday: May 22-24, 2010

Dear friends,

It has been brought forefront to my attention the conflicting dates with upcoming Shinpiden workshop. I have advertised as three days, May 22-24, yet Yoga By The Sea states two days May 22-23. Both are correct in their own space. I have booked YBTS for the two days, but would like to combine an outside activity for the third day. We will need the full three days to complete the level.

I have priced this workshop at $350, which is really a 2 day price. I am happy to leave it at this for three days as you are my charter Level III students and I am delighted to be making the first run.
From here my prices will rise to $450 for three days.

Accommodation is $50 per night. Please feel free to arrive later on Friday, or early Saturday morning. I will supply beds, linens, and food. Please feel free to bring a dish along to add to our menu, and be prepared to share kitchen duties. Group food preparation is always fun!!!

You will find the weather up here to be a bit cooler and damper than Vancouver, please bring some woollies just in case. However overall the weather up here at present is spectacular.

During this workshop we will overview the Five Precepts, the Three Diamonds, and both Shoden and Okuden. We will then move into the Symbol and Mantra for Shinpiden, plus you will learn how to do a Rei-ju (Reiki blessing, forerunner to the attunement). Our focus will be on deepening your practice, in order to deepen and widen your access to source and true self. This in itself will access stronger levels of source energy for healing and personal growth.

I look forward to receiving you for a truly transformative experience.

Please feel free to e-mail me if you have further questions.

Blessings,
Judy

Dear Friends,

I have recently returned from another Reiki (Shinpiden) workshop with Frans Stiene, co-founder of the International House of Reiki, and co-author of The Reiki Sourcebook. (www.reiki.net.au) What did I learn?

When we read a book for the second, or third, fourth etc, time around, we receive its message in a deeper place. This is especially true of a book that contains profound truth and wisdom, written from one who has been there. And so it is when studying Reiki with Frans, a Reiki practitioner/teacher who truly lives what he teaches, who continues to seek for deeper truth, and who teaches to be understood from that place of knowing.

During Frans' 4 day workshop I began to embody a deeper truth, as it relates to the System of Reiki developed, practiced and taught by Mikao Usui in the early 1900's. AND I began to embody a deeper truth for myself as it made itself known to me.

I learned that returning to our true nature was truly the intended purpose of Mikao Usui's teachings. That Reiki was not developed as a hands-on-healing modality is still a shock to many. The curious truth about Reiki is healing is a positive side effect of practicing the System of Reiki. Having said this, hands-on-healing is one of the five elements that distinguish Reiki from other healing modalities and is still an important piece in healing ourselves.

The basis of Usui's teachings were in the Five Precepts and in the meditations. Usui started his student's journey with these two elements... he taught one-on-one over several years, much like a spiritual guru would mentor his protegee to enlightenment. Over time symbols, mantras, initiations, and practices were offered as additional tools and support for the journey to true nature.

How can we relate this into today's world? We are in the midst of huge evolutionary change. Many can feel it in the internal and external changes taking place in our lives. By returning to our true nature not only can we find the calm in the storm, but we can return to our truth, the part within us that has always been there, that has remained exactly as it was created through all generations and lives. The part of us that continues to inspire toward healing, change and potential. Hands-on-healing supports this journey for us.

Reiki can support our way back to truth, can empower us to find our own way, our very being of existence. Reiki supports us to find our balance in this world, and in this place of balance we automatically return to wellness and vitality of life. Reiki also supports healing of plants, animals, and the earth.

Reiki can be taught over a two day workshop, but Reiki is a lifetime practice in order to reap its true benefits.

If you would like to learn more about the System of Reiki as taught by Frans Stiene, and as I have embraced it, please visit my blog at www.hridayawellness.blogspot.com

What is a Reiki lineage?

We understand that one of the characteristics that distinguishes Reiki from other hands-on-healing methods is the attunement or initiation process passed along from a Reiki Master/Practitioner who has been attuned and studied Reiki before. The attunement offers not only a way to clear energetic channels within the body, but also links one to a particular Reiki lineage. What is Reiki lineage? A Reiki lineage is much like a family tree that links through an energetic connection. Just as we are linked back to our forebears and ultimately to the beginning of humankind, so attuned Reiki practitioners are linked back through lineage to the Founder of Reiki, Mikao Usui. Each lineage is different and is distinguished by each one's interpretation of Reiki itself.

I am linked to four Reiki lineages, but practice and teach the Usui Reiki Ryoho lineage as delivered by Frans and Brownen Stiene of the International House of Reiki. I am influenced by the teachings of one of my former Reiki Masters, the late Christopher Humble. This coming weekend I am taking part in a workshop being offered by Frans in San Francisco, giving me an opportunity to strengthen my lineage with him. This system makes sense to me, it is practical and foundational, it seeks to teach the practices as taught by Usui in his lifetime in Japan and offers a path to awakening and higher consciousness.

A bit more about me....

I am a Master/Teacher of Usui Reiki Ryoho. My journey into Reiki began in 1997, and my teachings have spanned several different lineages. Reiki has changed my life in immeasurable ways. I have been blessed to have amazing and enlightened teachers and now practice and teach the Japanese Art of Reiki as taught by the International House of Reiki in Sydney Australia, my hometown. This lineage of Reiki aims to mirror the practices of Mikao Usui in his lifetime, and has taught me the original intention of the System of Reiki to be personal growth, empowerment and enlightenment. That Usui believed all living things, including humans plants rocks trees etc, hold their own healing intelligence reflects the spiritual beliefs in Japan in his lifetime, and is the benefit of practicing this amazing system, for we immediately learn we are each responsible for our own lives, our own manifestation on this earth, by this I mean we create our own existence. It is by aligning to a higher truth that our existence leads us into our higher purpose and potential in life.
Reiki, which helps us to develop our intuitive skills, also helps us to self-reflect and discover where these places of manifestation are within us. We can then use Reiki to support the healing that takes place.
Hands-on-healing is only one component of this system, and healing from illnesses is a beneficial by-product, so to speak. My first highly evolved Reiki Master, Christopher Humble, has passed over and supports my work from the other side. He was a Bahai and came from pure spirit.
My present teacher, Frans Stiene, is just as amazing.
My practices, that also involve yoga, Chi Kung, nature, meditation and recreation, help me to stay centered and focused. I have a personal and deep commitment to my evolution in this lifetime, and to the support of others in their healing and evolution. I believe our healing ultimately exists in the shift from a fear paradigm, to one of pure love and compassion.
I support others in this way, by speaking openly from my truth. Yes, I teach Reiki, yoga, and offer a community program monthly in Vancouver. However I believe my greatest teachings are through my wisdom and inner knowings, and my intuitive abilities to be able to respond with integrity for myself and others.
I teach out of Vancouver and Roberts Creek BC, and offer a Free Intro to Reiki in both places.

Here is what I offer in Reiki:

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a combination of two Japanese words, Rei and Ki, which translate to spiritual energy, the source of all beings and things. The use of Reiki energy is an ancient and holistic healing method involving gentle touch. The System of Reiki, founded by Mikao Usui in Japan in the early 1900s, is an amazing system developed and taught for spirituality, self-healing and personal growth.

Reiki is the energy of divine, unconditional love, and is easy to work with. Ki is the Japanese form of chi or prana, referred to as life force or vital energy that exists in everything. When we work with Reiki we work with this energy to enhance our body's vitality and our connection to everything.

A session of Reiki quickly brings one to a place of peace and deep relaxation, a place that assists bringing the body into balance, boosting the immune system and stimulating one's own healing process.

Working with the essence of Reiki teaches us compassion, heightens our intuition, and supports our personal growth toward conscious awareness. It helps realignment with our true path, our source and our spirit.

Introduction to Reiki

In this free two-hour session you will learn how to define Reiki, its philosophy, the history and lineage, how it works, how it can benefit us and how it is taught. We will discuss how we become out of balance in our body, how Reiki can support an harmonious rebalancing, and how it can to bring harmony into your life and the life of others around you. This session includes a Reiki activity.

Reiki First Degree — Shoden

Shoden works at the physical level teaching us how to practice self-healing and the basics of healing others. Prerequisite — Intro to Reiki.

This two day experiential workshop includes:

* The Five Precepts
* Shoden Attunements
* Shoden Practices and Meditations
* Hands on healing for self and others

Reiki Second Degree — Okuden

Students often ask how much time should there be between each level. One is usually intuitively guided to the next stage, often when a level of confidence and balance is felt. The Reiki I attunement is the opening step... it opens energy channels and initiates change in the student's life. From here the student follows through with practice to support his/her healing and growth.

Okuden takes the student into a deeper level of connection and practice. At this level many of the skills introduced in Shoden are develped further, plus new skills are introduced. Contents of this two-day workshop include:

* First three symbols
* First three mantras
* Okuden attunements
* Distance healing
* Review of Shoden practices
* Okuden practices and meditations

Reiki Third Degree — Shinpiden

Shinpiden means "mystery teachings" and is the third level in Reiki. Shinpiden further deepens the practice, focuses on personal development, and gives the final teachings in the system of Reiki.

Contents of workshop include:

* Symbol #4
* Mantra #4
* How to give a Reiju — spiritual blessing
* Shinpiden practices

Reiki Master/Teacher Apprenticeship Training

This is for students who feel called to deepen their practice. Prerequisites are a purity of heart and purity of motive. This program offers one-on-one mentorship and ongoing support while taking the student through each of the levels. Apprenticeship training usually lasts 4–6 months.
Cost: $1000 per student

I have been focussing mostly on the Reiki portion of my business. Here is an updated profile of where I am presently at.
